Shamrock Run Portland 15k Elevation Profile

Yeah, the R's ran this bad boy last there any wonder I'm not looking to repeat this year? It's a stiff climb, make no doubt about it.

  1. Is it really that bad? Going up 487 feet in 4 or 5 miles doesn't sound too hilly by Pacific Northwest standards. For god's sake look at Mary's Peak.

Anyway thanks much for posting this, I was curious about the route.

  2. Well, it's all relative, I suppose, but then I don't know of any races going up Mary's Peak either.

I think what makes this course seem tougher is that the uphill is steady. There's no up and down where you can catch your breath. It's just up all the way until the halfway point and then down all the way home.
